I am going on vacation soon to my dad's house he asked if I could brew a malt forward amber.

I made a weird IPA with RedX and Maris otter. I tossed in 6 oz of roster barely at the end of the mash and if was super red and had a good flavor.

This time I would like to retain a nice ruby color but looking for a more traditional amber ale flavor. Any help is appreciated.

For hops i have cluster, loral and one ounce of Falconers flight.

Also have a bunch of MO i need to use up.

What commercial brands of Amber Ale (or maybe it's Amber Lager) does your dad like?

He drinks just about everything. i see him rarely so i wouldn't know of a specific brand. i know he enjoys lagers and during my last visit he had some import amber lagers. it was a German brewery.

i have about 4 weeks to go from grain to bottle. i plan to keg then bottle off the keg to speed things along. also thought about using a English ale yeast to speed things along as well like Pub from Imperial.

Look for Denny's Waldo Lake Amber recipe. Well balanced, beautiful color. It's hard to beat.

Is it posted on the forums or on google?

found it, looks super simple. looks like the hops i have wouldn't be that far off.
