One of my customers has decommissioned on of there printing setups and has 2 65 or 80 gallon tanks they used as "dispersion tanks". The shipping clerk said that they are both stainless and once held a type of ink/paint they used for some type of printing press.

My question is can they be made safe by some form of manual or chemical cleaning process so i could use them in a large brewing set up im planning?

Wondering if i polished them up nice and removed a layer off the top. Possibly had them sandblasted or professional cleaned.

Thanks

Hydrochloric acid will renew the surface pretty good
Heat will make it more agressive if needed

Long chemical gloves and face protection is recomended as this will burn you pretty bad
And avoid breathing the gas

Manual cleaning first might be needed(oven cleaner and soft scrub)
