Hello all, this is half DIY and half beginner so didn't know which forum to put it in so I hope this is alright.

Im new to homebrewing (first batch is bottle conditioning currently). My question is this:

I live in an apartment that has Washer hook-ups with no washing machine. This means I have hot and cold water taps in a utility/brew room that I want to take advantage of. Are there easy ways to make custom length hoses I can use to run between equipment? Basically, I dont want to buy a massive garden hose for a small little brewing setup.

Whats the best way to go about this?

find a local industrial hose and fitting shop. They will have what you need. And it will probably be relatively inexpensive.

You can find washer dryer hoses that are 10 feet long too, but if you want to use that water in your brew you'd want and RV water hose on the cold side.

If you're not going to run brew water through it just pick up a cheap hose at the Despot. Along with this, grab a few of the replacement male and/or female fittings. Cut and splice the big hose to make your smaller hoses.

I got some 6 and 10' RV hoses at Walmart for very cheap. They are like garden hoses, but food safe. Not sure what happened with hamiltont, but I have run hot water through them for 2 years now. My hot water heater runs at about 148F, and I have VERY good water pressure. They have never even bulged...

My water is a bit hotter and I do run hot water through it, generally with a nozzle to clean the conical. I just don't leave it sit with pressure on it. Bad results! Cheers!!!

What kind of material are RV hoses made from? Seems I could find some food-grade tubing with some hose attachments to hook it up. Is that legit?

Yep, you could do that, but it'll cost a bunch more. I just bought a 25 foot rv water hose at Walmart for $9.97. I think you'll have trouble being even close to that with any other hose setup.
