I followed a thread talking about making just alcohol and the best way to make it. The room "watchers" finally shut the chat down. Sometimes the room moderators are helpful. In this particular thread the guy was asking just about how to get the most alcohol out of a batch. I understand that this is not the purpose of this room, we also want taste and flavor and uniqueness. I also spent several years in places like Norway and Denmark where alcohol is very expensive. It is common in these countries to make a very pure alcohol that can then be mixed with flavourings to make a replacement for alcohol that is so very expensive. Not sure how this would work with beer , but with a mixed drink it was acceptable. Just for the rooms information,,,

Hi Marco, sounds as if you are not talking about anyone making wine - After all, wine is simply any fruit or sap to which you have added yeast and allowed the yeast to ferment the sugars in the must. You get all the taste from the fruit or the sap or honey without any need to add "flavorings"... and most fruit will contain enough sugars to produce a wine of about 6 % ABV without the addition of any other sugars..
