Making a hot liquor tank out of this Coleman cooler

Anyone familiar with this type of Coleman cooler? I was looking for advice on getting the spigot out cleanly.

I would try an appropriately sized allen wrench in that hole and see if you can turn it counterclockwise.

I would think this should work. In the first pic it looks like a bit of thread is showing.

I would say you could take a pair of vice grips and grab the spigot cap and turn it counter-clockwise. I agree with cracked1, It looks like it's threaded, so it should be a pretty easy removal.

It should just unscrew. I have a similar one and what I did was hold the base of the flap on the outside while turning the inside bit with my fingers.

It looks like their may be a bit of gunk in there and that might have caused it to stick a bit. Perhaps run some cleaner and hot water around in there before you try to unscrew it.

I have had two Coleman beverage coolers since the mid 1990s. They are beverage coolers, not the kind you dump ice and cans into. They had removable spouts and I added stainless valves. I bought some food grade silicone sealant to make everything leak proof. They have the same v-shaped area on the inside by the spout as yours does. That allowed me to add the nuts to the inside of the valves.

The one on the left is a HLT, but I heat the water in my BK and pump it into the HLT. The one on the right has a RIMS and you can see the tube at the end of the cart. I have been thinking about buying one of these elements that hang over the side:
