Make Sure You Clean Your Spigot!

Did some bottling over the weekend and noticed that the spigot had an off color. I wasn't too concerned since it appeared to be off colored plastic. Well, it turns out it was mold in between the fittings

Lesson learned...take apart everything and thoroughly clean.

Ack. Mold sucks. Before I started rinsing my bottles right after finnishing one, I had frequent mold to remove. Such a pain.

YUP - I think I mentioned that a couple months ago when I had the same experience.

I have had no problems.

I use spigots on my fermenters.When they're not in use they're soaking in a tupperware dish full of starsan.

I just bought a spare to keep on hand. Also got myself a spare bottling want...just in case.
