Here's the deal. 2 weeks ago I noticed a "slick" on top of my wort in the primary. I posted the subject and from the reply I got and the general word on the boards this seemed normal. I then transfer to secondary, dry hop for 1 week and bottle this past Monday and all seemed well. Green beer, but all was well. I left the primary with the yeast cake in it with an inch of wort on it for a week and when went to clean it/considering washing it and there was mess. Vinegar/tart smell and what looked like a bacteria colony. So now I am worried, was this infected earlier (smelled like beer, tasted like beer so I think no) or did I miss the boat on this one. Its been bottled for 4 days and I inspected a couple of bottles, there is the "slick" again on top of each. Tried one, still tastes like green beer but no nastiness involved. One more thing, my filtering was not as good as i would have liked so there are particles floating about which I attribute to the dry hopping so it might not be a big deal. What do you think?

patience.

If you are really worried, put them in a safe place that wont matter too much if they blow up.

yes, patience. On another note, what about the equipment. After a sanitizing is it ok for future use?
