So i have a Cooper's Real Ale kit that my sister gave me. I wasn't too excited about it cause it didn't really seem like a flavor i was really in to. Talked to the folks at the local LHBS and they said bring it in and they'll give me some suggestions for stuff to flavor it with. But, I wanted to ask you guys and see what you thought would be something good to add to it. Specifics are kind of blurry from their web page. "traditional ale like it should be. Bright golden colour, strong head, generous mouthfeel and a moderately bitter finish." I Imagine it would be something similar to a Budweiser? SO! Any suggestions how to make it NOT a budweiser or the like?

Just a suggestion:

Add a pound of sugar, use WLP550, ferment mid 70s, and dry hop with a ounce of Amarillo.

Will give you a Belgian Pale Ale along the lines of Houblon Chouffe.
