I'm trying to find a good relay to switch a heating element from 120V to 240V. It should be SPDT and handle at least 30 Amps. I want it to have a 12 volt coil so I can easily control it via automation.

I'm finding a lot of 30A SPDT relays, but I think they are for 12V DC Automotive uses and cannot handle switching 120/240VAC.

What are you guys using for this?

Here's some I'm finding, but I don't know if they will work.

I'm not sure about the datasheet on the first one:
http://www.onlinecomponents.com/viewer.aspx?p=11725634

It shows the Normally Open (N.O. Load) as 30 Amps and the Nomally Closed (N.C. Load) as 10 Amps. I think I would want the normally closed, fail safe circuit to be the 120V and the one that closes when the coil is powered to be the high voltage, 240V. That way if the relay fails, it's on a lower voltage. A 5500W element is going to draw at least 11 Amps when running on 120V (1375W) instead of 240V. I need a relay that is rated up to 15 Amps on the NC load and 30 Amps on the NO load.

I'm still trying to dig up a good source for these. All the relays under $10 are either not rated for enough amps or are DC only. I can get DPDT relays to do this for about $7.50, but I'm trying to cram two relays (SPDT to switch between 120V and 240V & DPDT for main shutoff) into a small box and I want to save space and get a SPDT for around $5 or less.

you can find 24v coil relays and step down transformers really cheap as they are extremely common in the hvac field. Basically every air conditioner has a set of each inside it.
