Looking for new affordable brew enhancers

I am pretty new to brewing but have had a great time doing it and drinking it. I am a broke college student looking for cheap ideas or DIY ideas to enhance my brewing experience. Just wondering of any suggestions you may have?

What do you have to work with now? You just need a big pot, grain bag and a bucket. Some simple ingredients. A cooking thermometer. Heck, last week I brewed with cornflakes. Not just cornflakes(maybe 20%), also 2 row and some other stuff I had in the cabinet. Process is just as important as good ingredients and you can make really decent beer if you are lacking in one department or another. Personally, I can't afford to spend much money, but loving the hobby.

Brewing beer can be as simple or as complicated as you want to make it.
