Hello,

I have been doing research on a two tap kegerators and come down to Kegco K309-SS with Perlick faucets and upgraded regulator. $936 delivered. I would love to stay under $1000 and honestly don't want to do any modifications if I don't have to. I see that a tower cooler is almost a must have and have no idea how to install it.

I also found a Kegco 199-SS on craigslist that is in great shape. Only 1 tap tho. How hard would it be to convert to dual tap with Perlick? He is selling all of this for $450 :"Keep in mind it comes with a full Co2 tank, an upgraded regulator, a large stainless steel drip tray, an added tower fan and a circulator fan and the equipment to run the fans. Several hundred dollars more than the basic unit."

For the most part, my wife and I drink America's best brewed beer, Miller Lite. Now that may be because I am from Chicago, parents drank it, and I just recently worked for MillerCoors (resigned last week, great company)..... Not biased or anything. ;)

Drink about a 24pk weekly between 2 of us on average.

I am looking for a solid, quality, non hassle, and one I can trust to pour a wonderful beer. I would love to get it on Amazon because I have a bunch of gift cards.

I would love to have a half barrel of Miller Lite and a rotational seasonal 1/6bbl.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

I'll defer to the more experienced members here, but I'm almost positive any 2-tap kegerator will only fit two 1/6 barrels OR one 1/4 - 1/2 barrel. You won't be able to fit a half/quarter and anything else. That's one of the main reasons I didn't go with a two tap kegerator.

If you're ok with two 1/6 barrels, you can find brand new two tap models. on amazon or newegg for less than $550 with free shipping (when I was looking last month) so I wouldn't screw around with that $450 used single tap.

Honestly... if you're budget is $1000, find a good two or three tap conversion kit, buy a 7-10 cf freezer and look at all the builds on here. You can do them as cheap or elaborate as you want and have it finished in two weekends for $500 and up (assuming you can use a measuring tape, drill and saw).

I was thinking about that but it seems complex and I don't want to screw around with mold growing in the insulation if I don't do it properly.

It's really not complex at all... if you have ever done anything with hand tools, you should be fine if you take it slow, think it through and plan ahead. Also, there's almost no insulating to do - especially if you don't use a collar. If you do build a collar, foam insulation board is cheap and would take care of your 2nd concern.

The Kegco 309 WILL fit a slim quarter barrel keg (not the short one) and a 1/6 barrel keg or cornelius keg at the same time. I've heard reports that it will fit a slim 1/4 and TWO 1/6's or cornies, but I don't know from personal experience.

I typically keep a 1/4 barrel keg of Yuengling and a corny keg in my two-tap 309.
