So, I'm doing a 1 gallon test batch of a high ABV (9% to 11%) extract wheat beer before I move onto a larger full grain recipe. I plan on doing only late hop additions with additional dry hopping. I'm fairly new to this, so I wanted to make sure my ingredient ratios are not too crazy.

I plan on using these ingredients:

3Lbs Maillard Wheat Malt Extract
0.25Oz Azacca and 0.25Oz Citra @50 minute boil mark
Inoculate with WLP300 Hef Ale Yeast
0.25Oz Azacca and 0.25Oz Citra dry hop for 4 days

I'm most concerned with the dry hop additions as of right now. Will the Citra dry hop be too overpowering considering this is only a 1 gallon batch?

I haven't brewed with either Citra or Azacca so any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I honestly don't have a gauge on what you should do with hopping as I brew 5 gallon batches and tend to go easy on the hops.

About going high abv though...
If I were you, I'd take it to about 6% with your malt extract and go the rest of the way with table sugar. Reason being is that it could easily end up being too full-bodied for your liking.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm generally a fan of the full-bodied styles, but was looking for something like a summer wheatwine-ish beer.

The obvious solution is to do 2 batches, one with that amount of hops, and another with half, or a quarter, as much!
I have enjoyed the (few) extract hoppy wheatwines which I have made.
