My current immersion circulator has seen better days, so I want to see what else is out there. Black Friday/Cyber Monday etc are coming up, so that would be a good time to get a new one.

My use case:

I generally use it in a 38 quart cooler (with a lid that has been further insulated) so that I can cook a lot at once.
The current cooker is 1100 watts and has no problems with this volume with the insulation; I'd want the new one to be at least 1000 watts.
The clip has to be able to be stretched wide enough to clip on to the wide edge of the cooler (much wider than a pot).
I want to be able to turn it on and set a temperature using only the cooker itself (no requirement for an app/internet/bluetooth/etc), and then turn it off myself when it is done. I will not install or use an app for it.
I buy meat in bulk and precook it in back-to-back batches, so the cooker has to easily hold up to continuous use for several days.

What do you recommend?

@inkbird you are a sponsor and have great products that I've used for other applications, do you have anything that would be good for this?

Thanks!

You might consider one of the various "all in one" brewing setups? Then it's double duty! Even if you don't spend the whole brew day with it, the timer controlled versions can start at a preset time and heat your mash or sparge water, things like that, saving a little propane work.

Now that's just being an enabler :D

I've got an electric setup already, so that wouldn't be that big of a plus in my situation. I like the way you think, though.

I have one from Inkbird, it wasn’t too expensive and it works better than the first cheap one I’d gotten.
What model do you have? Does the clip seem like it could fit on a cooler? And can it be used WITHOUT an app or connection to anything else?

I use it without Wi-Fi or an app, but it maybe capable. It looks like it would fit a thin cooler I suppose the contact pad could be switched out for something thinner.

Thanks! I just measured and the cooler is ~1.75 inches wide where it would need to clip. If it is close, I could probably also heat the outside of the cooler wall with a heat gun and compress it in a bit to narrow it down, in addition to modifying the contact pad.

That model is $69.49 on Amazon right now, so pretty good price. I'll have to see what Black Friday brings.

Looking through the other options out there, I can't find any that specifically have a wide clip, so alterations will probably be in order.
