Hey guys! Just looking to solicit some advice / recommendations on a kegerator to purchase.

This would be exclusively for serving home brew out of 5 gallon corny kegs. I haven't brewed in almost 8 years, but I'm planning on getting back in to it, but absolutely don't want to get back in to bottling.

When I last brewed, I had a full size fridge that I converted in to a 2-tap kegerator. I still have all of my old gear, including 3 or 4 corny kegs and a CO2 tank. I've been out of the hobby for a long time, but do remember there being a difference in the connectors between the corny kegs and commercial kegs, so I want to make sure whatever kegerator system I purchase will hook right up or be easily adaptable.

I was looking at one of the Edgestar dual tap kegerators that specifically says it is for home brewing, but it comes with 2 kegs and a co2 tank, which I don't *really* need. Here is a link to that:

I see they have another similar model without the kegs and tank which is a couple hundred dollars cheaper, but would that have the wrong hookups? Here is the link to that:

Any thoughts or different models to consider would be very much appreciated! Dual tap is a requirement as I always want to keep 2 different varieties going. Looking to put the kegerator in the kitchen, so I want to stick with a relatively small footprint and don't want to make another frankenstein monster like I did before, lol. This one has to be wife approved, which wasn't a concern 8 years ago! :)

Buy a used fridge and make your own?

The fittings on the kegs are either ball lock or pin lock (in most cases) and the type of kegerator shouldn't matter since the hoses can hook up to any style of manifold and tap

Did the used fridge and made my own thing before, but it's a no go now. Need the smaller footprint of an actual kegerator, no good place for a 2nd fridge in the kitchen in the new house, plus it has to be wife approved as part of the decor, lol.

specific use case here is Corny kegs, and it seems like the kegerators come with hose connectors for specific keg styles, but perhaps I'm reading the product descriptions wrong. Anyone with experience doing exactly what I am looking to do that could weight in?

I bet it doesn't come with a commercial style sanke adapter. Email them and confirm. If it does you can always take it off and install the connectors you need, ball lock or pin lock. Those connectors are inexpensive, around $5 or $7 a piece. If it does come with the sanke adapter, just take it off and you'll have it in the event you buy a commercial keg of your favorite beer.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Seilenos, that link you provided looks like aces. One of my buddies bought a kegerator, and upon further research did a couple mods - the forward facing faucets and a fan to cool the tower. The fact that they include both with this model is really sweet. Going to do some more research but we may have a winner.

Well dang, I was all in, but I measured my space, and I have 21.5" width to work with, and this model is 24" wide. I could fit it, but I'd have to cut drywall and re-locate an outlet to make it happen. Also couldn't put the co2 tank behind it, I have 25" of depth ideally, 26" max. Really like the factory mods this one comes with but I'm not sure I can make it happen. Perhaps I could throw it in a spare bedroom - have to go to the executive board (aka wife) for approval.
