I have been asked by family members to brew a light/ straw color beer for them to try. Suggestions where something alone the lines of Coors, Michelob, or even Bud, maybe close to the flavor of the light versions. I have been skeptical, cause I've enjoyed brewing the other more tasty wheat and ambers. But still would brew one for my kegs to have alongside my other batches. Any suggestions would help. I have looked at a Brewer's Best extract kit that is called American Light. Not sure if this will do the trick.

Make Biermuncher's Centennial Blonde, but sub out the Cascade at the end for Crystal. Or "Cream Of Three Crops" Cream Ale.

You may also like Yooper's Fizzy Yellow Beer. I believe there is an extract version in the thread as well.

If you're looking for a kit, I really liked Northern Brewer's Speckled Heifer. It's similar to Spotted Cow (New Glarus). All my American lager-drinking family loved it, despite the fact that it has a lot of flavor I think.

Here is a simple recipe

5 gallon batch, 5 gallon boil
IBU 17 ABV 4.78%
6 pounds extra light
1 pounds pilsner malt
.25 pounds honey malt
.75 Willamette at 60
.75 Crystal at 15
