I'm brewing an IPA soon and have used Safale-05 with great success in the past but would like to start making starters. What would be a good liquid yeast equivalent to S-05 that I could make a starter with. I want a nice clean finish to the beer. My understanding is that there is no need to make starters with dry yeast.:mug:

thanks

Wyeast 1056 is the equivilent, as is WLP001 for the most part...

correct on no starters needed for dry yeast.

You could always use half a dry yeast packet and make a starter... :D

I don't want to try anything to crazy as this'll be my first starter batch. I've never made starters before.
