Looking to build out my kegerator with 4 Intertap flow control faucets. Currently I have 4 picnic taps each with 4 feet of 3/16" beer line. I get great pours serving at 11 psi. My understanding is that with non-flow-control faucets its recommended to have closer to 10 feet of line at ~10-11 psi to provide the needed resistance for a good pour. My question is, when I switch to flow control faucets, will I have any issue with still using 4 foot lines? I know beer line is cheap and all but it would be convenient if I could just pull the picnic taps off each of my my beer line assemblies and stick the lines right on my flow control faucets.

I have Perlick flow controls and use 6 ft lines, pours fine. I thought about going shorter but 6' was what I started with, and went with the if it's not broke don't fix it attitude.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Right now I'm sitting in the same boat as you - I already have the 4 foot lines so I think I'll try them out and see if it works. If it doesn't I guess I can always just buy more line.

Do you find you need to do much flow adjustment with your 6 foot lines?

No, I usually run them as open as they will go. The flow restriction thing in them provides enough resistance.
