New to brewing and I'm brewing my first batch of caribou slobber from northern brewer. This extract kit has dense layers of caramel malt and baked chocolate. Should be a good session beer. Im looking for my next extract kit to brew when i move my caribou slobber into its secondary fermenting carboy. I would like to know any reccomendations on beer you have brewed and a little description of the aroma and flavor. I like beers like yuenling lager as well as bluemoon's belgian white ale. Summer is soon and florida will be hot so maybe something thats light but also something that will have decent size to it. If you name a beer please list where you got it from.

Just giving this a bump because it's about to migrate to Page 2 obscurity without any replies.

I don't generally think that far ahead. I have a few pounds of hops in my freezer, multiple varieties that I either know I like or have never tried (heavy on Australian and New Zealand varieties these days - it get harder and harder to find ones you've never had/used after a while).

95% of my beer recipes are therefore freelanced. I buy whatever catches my eye when I shop (a LHBS seems like it makes more sense for the impulse buyer).

But when I do buy a kit, it's basically for the same reason - it caught my eye because it strikes me as something interesting to try. So that's my suggestion - head down to the LHBS, browse a bit and pick something that looks like fun.
 
I'm 2 batches into my saison swing to get ready for the coming heat wave down here in south Florida. First was pretty simple- just pils and wheat malt with Wyeast 3711. Then I just did a darker Saison- basically an Irish red grain bill with the same 3711 saison yeast. And next will come some sort of fruit laden saison.
 
I bought a Brewer's Best Irish Stout from a local store for around $30 - $35. This was a partial grain / extract kit. It took about 3 weeks in the bottle to finally carbonate, and I love it. If you make it NOW, it could be ready for St Patty's day. I did 8 days primary, 8 days secondary, bottled. Now if you want something for the summer, you could do the Centennial Blonde recipe that is on this site, I believe they have an extract version of it.
 
Northern Brewer Kolsch if you have a way to keep temps around 58-60°F then a way to chill down COLD for a bit (I had it at 5°C for 3 weeks). Get the wyeast Kolsch strain. It was such a hit with my brothers last year that i am going to brew TWO batches of it this spring! I have since moved on to buying DME and grain and doing my own thing, but for Kolsch I will buy NB's kit, it worked well! Very light, but flavorful, easy drinking spring/summer beer :)
 
NB's Dawsons Multi-Grain Red is a great extract kit. I brewed this 8 weeks ago for a quick turnaround brew. Got it on tap now and in bottles. Easy to brew and rather tasty beer.Their dry Irish Stout kit is great as well. Even tho I am partial to mash brewing I still dig extract beers. These two brews are 6 week beers from brew to bottle. BTW the Slobber is a very nice beer. I brew it often. Midwest has some great extract kits that I have brewed. Their Castle Brown Ale, Irish Red & Oatmeal Stout are a few I can think of.
