Almost 30, beer loving guy here. I am just starting out in home brewing. It seems like something I would do. I am a hobbyists hobbyist. Coins, table-top wargaming, computers, etc. My first brew should be early in the new year. I am putting together my set up currently. If you have any rec's for a extract/partial mash send em my way!

Congratulations! Welcome to HBT! I am a Western New Yorker, transplanted in Cleveland now...

Welcome to HBT AND the obsession. I am also a Buffalo transplant, and Niagara Tradition is a great resource. If you haven't yet, I recommend stopping on by to say hello. They have monthly tastings there too that are a lot of fun. Cheers!

Welcome FB, it is an obsession I hope your prepared. I'm currently in transition, about to go AG after 15 or so extract/PM brews. I've only been brewing about 6 months or so but IMHO full boils and wort chiller made the biggest difference in my finial product. Once again welcome, you have found one of the greatest resources to homebrewing known to man.

Cheers...

Lots of options, need to narrow the styles a bit. But since there's an 80% chance you're a hophead and IPAs are really simple beers, that might be a good one to start with.

Welcome, from Jamestown. If you are closer to the southside of Buffalo then I would recommend Dunkirk Homebrew. That is where I get all my LHBS stuff. Owner's name is Steve.

Welcome to the world of HBT!

I am a noobie here myself, but welcome anyhow. I am here from Buffalo as well. If you ever need any help or extra tools, give me a shout, I have amassed a TON of stuff at this point.

I will second Niagara Traditions. They are really good people and are very knowledgeable.

Thanks for all the welcomes. Actually I found a recipe for a partial vanilla porter that I have decided on. Will be brewing in a prob. over sized 30qt kettle Primary in a 6 BB carboy and secondary in a 5 bb carboy. I have a second job right around the corner from Niagara Traditions at a dot com that retails kegerator/home bar stuff so I have lots of encouragement. Niagara Trad is where I am getting most of my stuff.
