So this recipe calls for bitter orange peel which I got from my LHBS and lemon peel. They did not have any lemon peel. Can I just buy a lemon and throw the peel in? Is it that simple or do I need the dried lemon peel? Any help would be great. Thanks.
 
Any suggestions for how much to use for a 5 gallon batch. I just want some hints of orange and lemon.

I recently used the zest of 3 oranges and 1 Meyer lemon in a 2.5 gal batch of a witbier "style" (substituted us-05 yeast) and it is very prominent. Too me it's a little too orange but my girlfiend loves it.
