Brewing up a white IPA. Was wondering when I should add the lemon grass and juniper berries to the boil? Trying something a little different with this batch. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers!

If it were me I'd add it all in the last 10-15 minutes but I've never used either before. I've used fresh Juniper branches before and just 10 minutes in the boil was more than enough.

I have never used juniper berries in beer, BUT, I once cured some wild hog backstraps and put just a few into the brine. Gave it a wonderful turpintine flavor (yuk)...it took a lot of smoking to almost overcome that flavor. I did not repeat that experiment. Seemed to me a little went a long way. I can actually detect this flavor when eating venison that has been feeding on juniper berries.

But...some of you hop heads seem to really like that kind of flavor note
