Screenshot cut off the cacade dry hop. Also have some Hallertau, tetnang, and fuggle hops leftovers, but didn't see a spot to fit them in. How's it look?
Didn't have access to additional hops. I split the hop additions up in quantity and times to stretch them out over the brew. Flavor was pretty good going into the fermentor. Dry hopping with cascade, hopefully it doesn't lack on the aroma. I brewed Sunday and left out the candi sugar. Target OG was 1.077 and ended up with 1.072. Should be a nice beer.
I'm a little skeptical of ~1.2 oz of hops adding 70+ IBUs to a beer. I ran them through a quick calculator and came up with around 32 IBUs, which I still think is high. I'm concerned that you're not going to have enough bitteness to balance this, and it defintiley won't be a as hoppy as an IIPA. If that's ok with you, fine, it will still be beer!
If you want to crank up the IBUs, use several ouces of hallertau, tetnang, and fuggle and use as your bittering hops. Then use your Simcoe, Cascade, and Chinook hops for late additions and dry hopping.
Wasn't sure about the flavor mixing with the hallertau, tetnang, and fuggle. Do all hops end up with the same bittering flavor when fully boiled, or maybe very subtle since they're all cooked out? I thought throwing in a random mix could really nasty up the beer, so I stuck with the small amount of what I had on hand of the IPA hops.
