So, somehow after my last batch i left about 8oz of cascade pellet hops out at room temperature in a zip lock back. Did not notice for a week, then put them back in the fridge. Are they good for anything or should i toss them?
thanks!

I'm sure they will be fine. Warmer temperatures accelerate the oxidation of the hops, which is why the fridge is better than the counter, but the freezer is better than the fridge. you should store your hops in the freezer. Being out for a week shouldn't be that big of a deal. If they smell nice and hoppy, you should be good to go.

Cool, thanks for the tips, just put everything i had in the freezer. The cascade still smells great so ill try and use them in my next batch

Old hops smell cheesy. If you don't detect any cheesy or funky aromas they should be fine. As tooldudetool said, a week at room temp. shouldn't be a big deal. Hop wholesalers in the US store their hops at 29F

One week is fine. Even a month.

If unopened they'll keep better. If opened, squeeze as much air out as you can, roll up the flap and tape shut. Best is one of those vacuum baggers, but they're pricey as are the consumables.

+1 on freezer storage. That's where I keep mine.
