Again I know pulling out of the farmers market put a damper on the hype but that stretch of time when Double Sunshine and all that crazy stuff seemed to be in abundance.

Yeah Trillium and Treehoise availability has lowered demand, but it's been crickets with Lawson's it seems.

What about Backacre? Lol the ghost whale of Vermont

Backacre?

oh yeah that blendery that wishes they were a true brewery, lol

Does the Warren store still stock Lawsons?

Curious as to why you'd say this? They are able to produce an excellent product without the overhead associated with having a full brewery, sounds like a great situation to me. Or do you just not like their beer?

Yes, I would agree with the fact that they produce an excellent product.

I guess I said it not to cause a quarrel, but just to state that they "blend" beers. I didn't know people would think I was coming across as a dick.

A blendery is a great idea, I mean who is doing it, really these days, right?

Excuse me for my choice of words or misinterpretation of what I was trying to say.

Potentially going to be in the Waterbury/Stowe area late Wednesday and into Thursday.

Looking for some suggestions where SOS may be hanging around those days in the area.

I checked out the delivery schedules, etc on Lawsons website. Just looking for some more expert input.

I was in Waterbury last Thursday/Friday and Craft Beer Cellar had SOS, 2 4packs pp/ per day

Will be going in the fall and I'll be around Stowe/Waterbury from Tuesday-Thursday in October.

What's the best play to get Lawson's beerz? Last time I was just able to grab a couple of 4 packs of Sip in Montpelier at Hunger Mountain Co-up, but would like to try to do a little more if possible.

We'll be staying in Stowe, but visiting Burlington and going up to HF of course. Just trying to figure out the best course of action and all. I've checked the Lawson's delivery schedule, but I'm unsure as to which are the best plays.

Anyone? Bueller?
The issue is 2 fold:
1) aside from SS2 and SOS, there are no regular releases so there is no advice to give for a trip 7 months out. The bottles only go to 3 stores and sell out quickly.
2) hand to god, 3 years ago I would swear Lawson's hoppy beers were the best, but today, they honestly aren't worth chasing at all. Frost, Foley bros, Burlington Beer, Upper Pass and others are putting out better beers that are widely distributed and easy to get. Hell, you can drive to the alchemist new brewery in Stowe and walk away with a case+ with minimal wait.

Once Lawson's is up and running in their new brewery I'm guessing the story will change, but until then I wouldn't bother trying to chase anything given the abundance of equal or superior options.

Fair enough on the 7 months. What I was kinda trying to figure out is who does get bottles on the occasions that they do come out, but ultimately you gave me several suggestions of places I'm not familiar with, so that works too!

Appreciate the reply bahnfire

Happy to help. The 3 stores that do get bottles are:
Beverage Warehouse in Winooski
Hunger Mountain Co-op in Montpelier
The Warren Store in Warren

Cool. I knew about Warren Store. I visited Hunger Mountain Co-Op last October on their delivery day, but I didn't get there until way later in the day so I knew they wouldn't have any bottles left (if they had any at all). I picked up a couple of 4 packs of Sip, but that was it.

Foley Brothers looks really interesting to me, but also pretty far out of the way for me to try to actually go there. Do they distro? If so, would you see their beers at Hunger Mountain or anywhere in/around Waterbury/Stowe?

Foley Bros have bottles on the shelves at all the good beer places. I'd buy from one of the craft beer stores (cbc, hunger mountain, etc) to make sure the hoppy stuff is fresh.

FWIW I believe CBC Waterbury has replaced Hunger Mountain in the Lawson's bottle rotation. Warren Store is your best bet if you're staying through Thursday since that's their delivery day for bottles, while CBC and Beverage Warehouse don't get bottles until Friday.

Good info as Thursday will be our last day in Vermont.

Is there any sort of rhyme or reason as to how often Warren Store gets bottles? I mean is it every week? Every few weeks? Every month? I know it's far off and there's no way to know for sure, just trying to sort of hedge my bets I guess.

The last time we came I sort of left the Lawson's thing alone. I was gonna try Warren Store, but I was going to have to shoehorn it in and I just said to hell with it... Figured I would try a little more this time, but who knows. We'll be there for about 3 1/2 days this time where last time was a little less than 2.
