Lagering malt

I have had a question put to me from my cousin who also is doing homebrew beer. He has a recipe that calls for lagering malt and neither one of us have heard of lagering malt.
Could someone please explain what this is and where you find it?

They probably mean pils or pilsner malt. You can substitute good old 2 row if you can't find pils.
