Hello
I have read on the forums about doing a lager yeast starter. A general consensus is a large lager as I have seen people use 1 gallon starters.
I have seen varied opinions about what temp to do the starter at.
I only have a 1L erlenmeyer flask. But in the past I have used sanitized 1 gallon water jugs for starters.
Ok, I just got my stir plate. So can I use a 1 gallon water jug on the stir plate or just do a 1L starter, let it go, then decant off, save the yeast but use a little to redo another starter? Then combine the 2 starters?
Also, will doing a lager yeast at ale temps really give off flavors?
Thanks
