I have been wanting to brew a recipe for a Dos Equis clone that a friend gave me for some time now. The recipe calls for Wyeast's 2124 Bohemian lager yeast. I am not yet equipped for maintaining proper lager temps. Can anyone suggest an ale temp yeast that would give me similar flavor characteristics as the Wyeast 2124?

You cant make a swamp coooler? they are so easy and cheap. If you want to make it similar i wouldnt try otherwise. Its worth a shot but better if you can manage. If you have a cooler/ freezer/ thermometer and some 20 oz mt dew bottles with water and you have yourself a swamp cooler. All you have to do is keep an eye on the temps, then either lager it in your fridge or just add more frozen bottles more often during lagering.

I got ya. Mt Dew bottles in the freezer, fermenter in the cooler, frozen Mt Dew bottles in cooler with the fermenter. Sounds easy. Thanks
