This is my first thread and my second allgrain batch. im going to do a lager and the fermentation temps I can do but the fridge I have to use only will go to 42F (6C) will the couple of degrees cause any foreseeable problems during lagering? being that im in canada the garage attached to my house will be around 0C in winter but i would really like to do it now.Should I wait or use my fridge that isnt really the proper temp? Sorry for the nube question but thanks in advance for any input.

No, lagering will be fine at 42, although not ideal. My preference is to lager at 32-34 degrees, but you can definitely do 42 degrees and just have a less "crisp" lager.

Fermenting will be very difficult, though, unless you can hold the beer at 48-52 degrees or so. Below about 48 degrees, fermentation won't happen. If you can maintain 50 degrees for fermentation, you're golden.
