My first lager is fermenting away just fine but looking ahead at the final cold crash stage I'm confused. The advice is 30 days at 35 degrees. Is that in a secondary carboy? Or can I rack to a keg, put it in my keezer, and start carbonating with co2?

Do it in the keg! So much easier. Just make sure to still condition it the appropriate length of time. So easy to drink it when it carbed up in the keg.

I was confused if part of the reason was to clarify the beer. If so then I assume you want to use a carboy fit 30 days so the end result can go to a keg. If I rack to a keg immediately then my guess is I will get a lot of sediment as the yeast falls out.

Indeed part of the reason to lager is for the beer to clarify. And it will clarify just fine in a keg. Transferring to a secondary fermenter before kegging doesn't do anything useful.

Yup. It'll clear just fine. Once you tap it the first couple pints will be garbage but after that you'll be good to go. Just finished layering my maibock in the keg. Clear as can be.

Thanks for the confirmation. I racked to keg today and started the cold crash. Going to try 35 which should be OK for my beers on tap too.
