Lactic acid cell in EZWater calc

This is probably a very dumb question for those that know chemistry. Sorry.

Cell J36 in step 4A in EZWater Calculator allows you to enter an amount in ml of lactic acid. Adding ten ml in my case gets me to the correct pH in the spreadsheet, but I can't tell if that means 10ml to the mash only, 10ml to the sparge water only, or split 5ml/5ml between the two. Does anyone know?
