My son decided it looked like fun last year so we signed him up for a spring clinic and he loved it. He started with a team here in Western WA a few months ago and it has been great. The confidence that he shows is a major improvement and he even is playing goalie now. At the end of the game the Team Captains select a player from the other team that they want to recognize and my boy got selected last Saturday. You should have seen his face let alone mom and dad's. here are a few pics of the game..

No, but decades ago I played both club field and box. I was so borderline that they kept making me ref. Great game.
I encourage having your son practice cradling. It's the skill separator.

Ooh, bad memory. The hot shot team in my 1977 box league was the Annapolis Natural Lights.
