Label Peelers pre order...anyone get em yet?

Label Peelers is only a few miles away from LD Carlson. You'd be hard pressed to find another HBS that has a better connection. Brewers in the area call Label Peelers for hops. If they say they can't get them.. no one can. I ordered a few pounds from hops direct to get me through until my LP order comes in. $25 a pound for centennial

glad i ordered my 2015 from yakima valley hops this year.

The people there are responsive and helpful, and the hops were great quality last year, so no regrets.


....but damn! Ye ol' hop freezer is empty and I'm thirsty.

Yeah, I've got some yeast waiting for these hops and it's pretty frustrating. I contacted LD Carlson to ask them about it and they said it had something to do with a lawsuit?

To clear up any confusion brought on by the gentlemen at Label Peelers we do in fact have 2015 hop in stock here at Farmhouse Brewing Supply. Here is a few pictures of some of the hops we have in stock, just dont want to empty the entire freezer to make a point.

Yes, bulk hops and 1 ounce packs are available. It's the 1 pounders that are not available.

Looking at the pictures there at least 2 are from YCHHOPS (Yakima). I asked my LHBS about this and they have no idea about delays in the 2015 shipment.

Agreed, I just did not want to get lumped into that category of selling old hops as new hops as the email from those guys eluded to.

I cancelled mine last month and ordered from Yakama, hate to do that to LP because they are a great shop, but I did not want to risk not getting any of the hops I use

no get, no update, no nothing.....except "hey, we're having another sale" emails.

the thing that really irks me about it is they have had my money for 4 months...that's, at best, bad form.

I realize they are not totally in control here, but they could send out any of the stuff we have tied up in the order that isn't pre-ordered hops.

Have ordered a ton of stuff from them and generally am pleased (thus the loyalty) but this is getting a little ridiculous.

But I also went ahead and scored what I wanted from the 2015 harvest elsewhere.
If the LP hops ever actually show up, it won't be a problem at all...

I just poked the bears over at LP, as the 4-6 week "loose estimate" expiration went by without further notification.

As I EASILY filled my 2015 crop needs elsewhere (and delivered already, no less), this has become a game of wills to me.
I will be hammering them for a premium on top of the full refund of my order if they blink first.
They can't pull this crap and just wimp out.
Someone's gotta get spanked!

That's just ridiculous and extremely childish. They've already said what the problem is, apologized and let everyone know that they would be happy to refund the money.

They owe you no premium other than a sorry. Everyone knows that when you preorder there can always be an issue like this.

Didn't know anything about the pre-orders through Label Peelers, but I can say I have bought probably 2 lb worth of hops from Farmhouse this year and they have all been great (all 2015 crops too). My LHBS even has the new YCH packaging in store.

I guess it is the 1 lb packages that are hard to come by from YCH?

I contacted them last week and they said that they should be receiving them in the next few weeks. Here is their exact response to me:

We finally got word from our supplier today that HopUnion is now rolling with the packaging of this year's crop. I'm not sure what held their production up so much this year since they are about 10 weeks behind last year's schedule.

My supplier, LD Carlson, indicated today that we should see them coming in from HopUnion sometime between March 10th and 17th and we will get them out as soon as they arrive.

I would totally understand if you wanted a refund at this point with this huge delay. We really had no control over delivery schedule but also realize that our customers have come to expect their pre-orders long before this year's schedule.

Please let me know and I will proceed accordingly.

I was just at the store today. They received their first shipment of hops. He said they were starting to working through the orders FIFO.

I got a tracking number today.

I got a tracking number yesterday also, and FedEx shows they should be here tomorrow. Now I wish I had plans to brew this weekend.
