Just quickly checking in to thank BigFrank for showing me around. Had some great Mexican and enjoyed a few beers at Monkish and Smog City. Really enjoyed both spots. Was a good visit. Cheers!

Good times hanging out. Next time we'll head inland for Bottle Logic and spots around there. Safe travels!

Mumford Way Tight is probably their best hazy ipa yet. Hitting that Monkish/HPB quality.
Are they a brewery worth checking out? I got some pretty apathetic opinions of them a year or so ago, but they seem like they're hitting their stride these days.

He / they nail NEIPA.

No I don't have a spreadsheet because I don't have a computer at the moment. I have until the 25th to pack them up.

Anyone of you guys wanna come over and shop at my apartment?

HPB BOTTLE FRIENDS said:
We’re launching a membership!

Thank you to all the members of our unofficial/official Beer Friends membership, we have one last presale for you before we close the doors on Beer Friends and begin the next chapter, Bottle Friends.

Bottle Friends is a culmination of over a year of thought, hammering out details, and wanting to best meet the needs and desires of our most loyal and dedicated customers and friends.

As we put the finishing touches on our Chinatown Brewery location, we are eager to finally unveil the details of Bottle Friends.

We will be releasing 10 included beers to members throughout 2018, 5 of them are guaranteed to be exclusive to members only. The first of the members only included beers, coming shortly, will be Science Sucks Apricots.

Science Sucks Apricots - Lambic Inspired Ale with Apricots - Our inspiration for this beer comes from a place of embracing the world of the unknown. Science Sucks Apricots is a single barrel dive into lambic cultures. This beer was fermented solely from the dregs of Drie Fonteinen and Girardin Gueze bottles. Our brewer Grant was inspired by these beers and sought to explore a beer with those specific yeast and bacteria. We used a very simple base of Weyermann Pils , Rahr unmalted wheat, and aged Hallertau Mittlefruh hops. We then aged that beer for 10 months in French oak puncheon barrels. We felt this base beer was a perfect platform for apricots. We used See Canyon apricots that were dry farmed by Mike Cirone on the Central Coast of California. This single barrel produced around 110 gallons of Science Sucks with 250 pounds of fruit added to that barrel. We hope you enjoy! 5.4% abv.

We’re looking forward to a great year ahead of us and are excited to share our new space and new beers with all of you. Thank you for your continued support.

EDIT: From what it looks like this is all happening at the Chinatown brewery only, not at the Hermosillo. Based on that, are they still going to have any presence inside the Hermosillo - or was the initial plan of the Chinatown brewery to officially move into their own digs?

And there it is.

Yes, small batches of beer will still be made out of The Hermosillo. I mean, there's no room for big batches of beer so um yeah.

Yep, they said they are going to do more experimental stuff at the Herm, as well as maintain the parking lot barrels! This means more sunsoaked I hope. Also means they can still sell growlers there.

Discount card is going to make pre-gaming in Chinatown before Dodgers games all the more compelling; I feel like the membership is reasonable so I'm just waiting for noon.
I’m still moarning the Dodgers World Series loss but pre-gaming and or post gaming at HPB sounds awesome.
