I've seen a bit of stuff in the forums on using krausen to ferment wort, but I'm interested in using krausen to carbonate a lager. I've got 5 gallons of an Oktoberfest and I just learned that krausening is a traditional method in Germany for carbonating beer.

Has anyone done this? If so, any guidance that you can offer in how to go about it?

I've read one article at picobrewery, but it was not too specific about how to approach the process, other than whipping up a gallon of beer at a certain gravity.

Thanks..
