I've done a couple of brews, decided I like it and want to get better.

Home brewing resources are thin on the ground here in Japan so I've joined homebrewtalk.com to listen, learn and (I hope) one day make a contribution.

Awesome, whereabouts in Japan are you located? I grew up there (folks still live in Osaka) and go back every now and then on business or to visit family. As my wife is Japanese there is always a chance we may end up moving back over there and I'm curious what that would do to my homebrewing.
