Hi Homebrew!

I'm working at a small Canadian kombucha brewery, and I'm trying to figure out reliable methods that we can use to measure ABV in our product in house. I'd love to compare notes with any other kombucha brewers out there!
 
You might join in on the post directly below this one, about the exact same question. The only way to know for sure would be to have it lab tested, I think.
 
I don't think they would know much about testing ABV in kombucha. It's not actually regulated yet in this fair country as far as I know!

It is. Well, it is in that if it's above a certain ABV (I think .5% in the US and some other countries) then you've got a problem if you don't have the right licenses.
 
Fair. In Canada I believe the limit is 1.1%, but as yet no one is required to put ABV on commercially made kombucha. I feel like this is coming down the pipes once regulatory agencies start to catch on like they did in the states.
