Seriously, I just read that Kid Rock has launched his own brand of beer called Badass: Kid Rock Launches His Own Brand of Beer | Scanner
Sounds awful

Kid Rock is a D Bag.
Badass? That's the best name he could come up with? Were Wife Beater Blonde or Trailer Park Lager taken?
Kid Rock and his "Made in Detroit" apparel line are working with Wayne State University to help start a college scholarship fund for area music students.
The Detroit clothing company will create 2,500 limited edition T-shirts bearing the school's name and the "Made in Detroit" logo, which features a factory worker in silhouette, carrying a large wrench.
I'm not a big fan of his music, and I too used to think he was a d-bag, but over the last couple years he has, in his own way done, quite a lot for the economy of Michigan/Detroit area.
He CHOSE to brew his beer in Michigan with a craft brewer rather than having a boutique producer brew it, or just slapping his name/trademark on some beer produced by a BMC brewery. He also chose a company Michigan Brewing Company that uses biodiesel run their operation.
He has attached some of the profits of his MADE IN DETROIT clothing line to various charities and funds, including Wayne State University's Music Business Program;
And even last week he did this cool thing for a Pizza Delivery Guy who he heard about who was robbed and beaten in Ohio.
His public persona may come of as a red-neck D-bag, and his music may have that sort of a following, but his behind the scenes generosity for Michigan and this area (and I guess he's done stuff like the pizza guy all around the country, quietly) has kinda leaned me a little bit pro-him.
I saw the beer the other day at one of the great beer shops locally, I dodn't pick any up, but I will give it at least one shot. And even if it's not my cup of tea, I applaud him for going with a craft brewery rather than a huge corporate conglomerate turning out macro-swill.
I guess the gnawing guilt he felt from producing all that redneck trash "music" (and I use that term looseley) had to be assuaged somehow.

Could be, my friend, could be....Honestly, I couldn't even tell you the name of any of his songs, or even if I have heard one all the way through. His music is that far off my radar.
He's a far more talented musician than you would think. Music is like beer, there's a time and a place for all of it.

Any try this yet?
Hell, maybe he's done some stuff to show how talented a musician he supposedly is, and I just haven't heard it
