It'll probably taste like Schlitz, PBR, Schaefer, or some other light lager that was popular in the 70's. If Warren Zevon or Lynyrd Skynyrd had brewed beer, it would be an exact copy with a new label.

Kid Rock is a guilty pleasure, I'll buy a sixer next time I'm home.

According to MBC's website, they distribute in Texas. I need to find it.

I've was sort of following this story for some time. I lost interest though because I really cannot stand Kid Rock (and I'm from Detroit). His music is terrible. It really is the worst crap the music industry can produce.

Now, the beer will probably turn out to be decent. I'm expecting something light and fairly unoriginal (like Kid's music). They'll probably sell it in clear 40oz bottles. I simply won't drink it because it's got Kid's name on it. Period. If they just called it American Bad Ass Beer, I'd probably expect the same type of product as I'm expecting now, but I'd try it. For this one, I'll probably just buy or brew something else to drink. There's plenty of other beers I can drink.

Sorry Kid. You won't get my money for your music (which I don't like) or for beer (which I do like) just because your name is on it. Stick you what you do best, making other artist's music sound like crap (I'm sure he's reading this :p).

He should release a cologne that smells like deep fried twinkies. He can sell it from a rusty trailer.

I believe the only things that MBC distributes outside of Michigan is the Celis brand. I could be wrong though

I think you're right. I looked at the website of their Texas distributor and all it showed was Celis.

Ban me if you must, but I can't have that kind of talk about Mr. Zevon!!! You have been warned!!!! :rockin:

So who is the badass American that this beer honors?

The term certainly can't apply to a little pansy like KR.

the bad ing is that kid rock to me actually makes some decent music. unlike some other wastes of oxygen that come from the detroit area, nyone say enema?or is that eminem? same thing since they both deal with cRAP.

While not a huge fan of the style of music that KR makes, I would say that there is much less interesting music coming from Detroit and other places today. Most of the hip-hop BS crap that is on the top40 today is just awful. I actually look forward to something like KR on the radio.

I was at MBC last week

and the owner Bobby gave me a taste of the beer they are going to use...It's a step up from bud and those type's of beer.

Kid Rock is very talented and crosses many lines in music.

He is an entertainer and a showman. Puts on a great show!!!!

There is a semi truck worth of 2 row sitting on pallets in front of the brew house. :D

A couple waitresses/bartenders have gone, but they have been replaced by young spinners. Possibly to be transplanted to Lansing soon.

The Lansing MBC Pub will be open very soon. Talk is that there will be wort sent there and pitched on site.

Hey Newell, shout out from a Spartan who claims East Lansing as his second home! GO GREEN!

As for the beer/entertainer, I grew up in Detroit, and I have mixed feelings about Kid Rock. I can't help but bob my head or tap my feet to his music, but he's not the image I would like associated with Detroit (neither is Eminem.) Now maybe Alice Cooper, Tom Selleck or Iggy Pop, they BLEED Detroit! :p :rockin:

I'll try any brew once, whether it has Kid Rock's name on it, or Pat Benatar's. I'm kinda of expecting a Schlitz knock-off as well. That was a good call on the clear glass bottles. It'll probably be something that people will have to put a lime in to make up for lack of complexity. But I'll try to keep an open mind.

BTW, I'm pumped for the new MBC in Lansing. It'll be something other than Harper's to enjoy when I go back to the Lansing area as far as microbrews. (and I never cared for Harper's too much.)

I agree.

Eminem is good at what he does also. Do I listen to them? No, but they didn't become multi-millionaires because they put out crap.

arturo7 - Pansy? Didn't KR punch Tommy Lee in the face? Pansies don't do that.

I saw all that two row when I was in the back and the back door was wide open....I showed alot of restraint because I can drive a fork lift !

Been hearing about this as well and assumed a BMC Light Lager. It'll be nice if it's actually a decent blonde. Will help some people realize that even fizzy yellow beer can have some flavor. i probably won't get to try it because I'm not driving 4 hours for a beer, but. oh well. When's it release? My boss is in MI right now, maybe he can snag me a sixer if it's out.

"People that like premium beers and Guinness is their of choice, they will not like this. I want this to be like the beer I drink (see right). You grab it, you share it with your friends, it's refreshing, it's cold, it gives you a good buzz. Done."
Yumm

It is cool that the production of this beer is creating 349 jobs in the area!

Harper's is horrible. Average beer and food, horrendous service, and a ********* crowd. One of my least-liked EL bars.

I agree. I enjoyed going in a LONG time ago when it wasn't too busy. Then they upped the price of their food (which was never that great to begin with) the bartenders and waitstaff stopped caring, and the music became WAY too loud. I used to enjoy the beer a bit, until I learned that there are SO MANY better varieties for craft beer.

I really really hope this isn't a shot at Skynyrd.......

Although, in support of this album, sadly enough, they'll be touring with the Kid....but honestly the first three albums are the only true Skynyrd albums to me
