Hello from KY! I have been using this forum for a few weeks now, and finally joined today. I had been wanting to homebrew for a long time, but never knew where to start. My wife bought me a one gallon starter kit for Christmas, but before Christmas we went to my work Christmas dinner where there was a silent auction. One of the items was a 5 gallon starter kit, which we won! (This is when I learned early that she had bought me one for Christmas.) Since the one gallon kit came with an ingredient kit and she had purchased an additional, we decided to start with that before diving into 5 gallon batches. I can't wait to start enjoying our creations and look forward to many years of conversations with you!

I'm a 1 and 5 gallon homebrewer and there is no reason for you not to stick with both. They are two completely different monsters and glad to see you're now a member! Let us know how they turn out and don't be afraid to try some crazy brews! :mug:

It's good to see a fellow Kentuckian joining the forum. Welcome.

This forum is a fantastic place to get help and advice. I'm looking forward to reading your posts. Hang in there. Brewing your own beer is a very rewarding hobby. It's the best way to drink top-shelf beer without paying top-shelf price. :)

Thanks for the warm welcomes. I'm sure I will be asking for a lot of advice as I obsess with my new hobby
