Hello,

Have any of you ordered any of these? If so can you provide an honest review. Thank you

Kegs? Yeah I have ordered kegs a few times from various places. I have found them useful from time to time for holding beverages or book ends for giant man sized cook books of you're into those.

I like kegs. I use them to hold beer (cornys and one 1/6 sanke.)
Also pretty good to brew in (3 used 1/2 sankes cut up and welded with valves and thermometers)

I've purchased their class 3 5 gallon kegs and they work fine. They had one handle cut but one usable. They held pressure fine. I'll snap a quick pic.

I got a couple of the 5 gallon ones...... this portion of the description is definitely accurate:
"These kegs require the disconnect to be pushed more forcefully onto the post and the disconnect collar manually pushed into position. "

One of the two that I bought is really pretty good. The other I have had problems with the liquid post/dip tube and seal..... It just does not fit quite right, and rubs on the dip tube, leaks sometimes, need keg lube and takes a while to get it just right.

To be honest, if I was going back in time, I would buy new ones instead of these. Nothing terrible about them...... really can't even find the cosmetic defects. They can just be a bit of a PITA at times and new ones are not all that much more, and they are SO much nicer to deal with.

I have 4 of the 5 gallon scratch and dent ones and they are actually in really good shape. Do what they are supposed to do and are brand new for the price of used.

Ohhh I'm eyeballing that really ugly class 3 5 gallon ball lock they have there for $30.

I'm a sucker for scratch and dents. All of my kegs look like they've been to war!! I've become pretty good at fixing messed up dip tubes and poppits and all that.

I've bought new and used before. Just got the used ones in the mail earlier this week. They turned out being a little more beat up than I had expected, but all came holding pressure and each with an O-ring kit. Replaced a couple because after the oxy-clean soak the o-ring was literally disintegrating into a black ooze on my fingers. Grand total of about 3 hours actual work to get 4 serviceable again.

All in all I'd scoop up those blemished ones. They're functionally new and just scuffed or dented a bit at a deeply discounted rate. I probably would have got most of mine exactly as such from this very site if cross border shipping was more affordable. By the time shipping was factored in for me it was almost the cost of a new one from a Canadian source.

I've got 8 of the class 3's, a couple of them feel like the handle might go on the top if you weren't careful, but overall no issues, they work fine and all 8 have come clean and pressurized. Got at least 3 with brand new lids on them. I might someday switch them out with new kegs, but I like that they're getting used instead of scrapped.

To save $50 or so I would definitely buy them. Every time I have a little extra money to get a 3 gallon one they are out. But point of me quoting you was to note that you can change the ball lock connector for a heck of a lot less than the $50+ you saved. I have seen the 3 gal for as high as $110 . If you are having that much trouble with it it is definitely worth the $6-$12 or so to have piece of mind that you won't end up with a floor full of beer when you are about to host a get together. Just my 2cents.

True. But, they send them with new connectors... and they state that they are hard to get on and off - even when new.

These kegs have defects and cosmetic blemishes such as scratches, discoloration and dents. These kegs require the disconnect to be pushed more forcefully onto the post and the disconnect collar manually pushed into position.

In fact, the two "blemished" 5 gallon kegs I got look almost EXACTLY like the two new kegs I bought..... there are no blemishes on them that I can even find. I think the "blemish" is that the keg posts are off a bit or something. The fact that these kegs are already new (just "blemished") does not really indicate to me that buying another set of new posts, to replace the new posts that are on them would do any good. I have a tough time getting the connects on and off for sure. It is not insurmountable...... but I will use every keg I have before filling these two "blemished" ones I bought - just because they are more of a pain to use.

I hear you on the cost though..... 3 gallons can be pricey - I would never buy them for $110. I have seen them once in a while though where you can buy a set of 2 new at a time for around $89 (each). Just saying that by the time you pay $50 each for something that did not work great, and then spend some more money and time trying to make them work......If "I" was doing it again, I would just wait till the new ones were on sale and get those - because the new ones worked absolutely great. Perhaps I just got a couple of real stinkers and the rest are better too.

Also, same site as the blemished kegs....... NEW 3 gallon kegs (of the same type) for $81.95.

This keg is the same stye keg as the OP linked..... but it comes with none of the warnings about the posts being a problem. While I agree that you don't want to go paying $100-$130 when you could maybe get a blemished one for $50...... My experience with this style of blemished keg was not great, and I would pay the $80 for the new one if I was doing it again.
