Keggle thermo placement on MLT

Adding a electric thermometer to the Mash Tun. Where are most of you placing it? How high from the bottom? I mounted it about 1/4 way between the bottom weld line and the middle weld line on the keggle.

Seems off a couple of degrees from my hand held probe. Trying to figure out of it's picking up heat from the either the bottom or sidewall or is just not calibrated correctly.

In the middle of a mash. I started brewing late today and didn't think to check how this one calibrates to my other electric thermometers.

I think the probe is to close to the manifold. Well actually to close to the pipe from the manifold to the bulkhead.
