This is probably just another dumb question but here it goes.

Why does everybody drill a hole in the side of their keggle and weld in a nipple? Why not the bottom? If I am using mine for BIAB would the problem be there is too much gunk on the bottom?

If it is electric then by al means put it on the bottom (or even better cut the bottom and use the original hole in the top as the bottom.)

If it goes on a burner, then you wouldn't be able to reach the valve (and the liquid I the valve would caramelize.)

It is so friggin simple just flip it over. That is a good idea but I already cut the top off

I have two bottom draining vessels, the HLT and the MLT, and have been thinking about going with a bottom draining BK as well. I just haven't really done anything about it yet.

My system is all electric, so there aren't any burners to consider.
