Hello I am building my first keggle and can't decide on which dip tube to use. I am currently thinking of buying a center pickup up tube from bargain fittings and then using a stainless steel scrub pad jammed under it to filter out hops.

Another option is a side pick up tube which looks to me you will loose a gallon of wort. Any opinions out there the center style seems simpler I am only going to use this keggle as a boil kettle for 5 gallon batches for now, the more I research on here it gets a little to complicated with whirpools pumps and thermometers. I am just looking for a simple entry level setup.

I made my own.

I leave maybe a pint behind in the keggle at the end of the brew day. Using a hop spider means I don't need to whirlpool, use a scrub pad filter, or any of that other crap. I use a plate chiller, and recirculate to sanitize it during the final few minutes of the boil. Zero issues with all this. :D
