Kegged my first cider tonight......actually ended up more like a champagne, but I added some concentrate to the keg. My system is set to 42 degrees and 12psi, resulting in just under 2.5 volumes of co2. That has always worked well for most of my ales, but I assume cider should be different. I cant find a volumes chart for cider and was wondering what is typical. Thanks!
 
Oh yea 2.38 volumes is a good start. You can go up from there according to your taste. Try it first around that level. If you want more you can turn up the psi from there if you want.

Same for beer/cider/water/starsan/etc.

They are all mostly water and can be force carbonated in identical fashion. The CO2 makes no distinction what mostly water liquid it is being dissolved in.

Temeprature and pressure will result over time in an equilibrium of dissolved volumes of CO2 in the liquid and headspace pressure.

Cider or beer, it matters not.
 
Ya thats the chart Ive always used for beer.....works beautifully!
It seems to me cider is usually more bubbly.....like a lambic or wheat beer might be.
Ill start where Im at and adjust.
