Thought for sure that my newly purchased corny keg would fit in my basement fridge. It doesn't.

This was only going to be a temporary home until I built a kegerator.
But not planning doing that for a couple months.

My question -- will the Kegged beer be ok until I build my kegerator?

Yes-- I did purge with co2.
I can just go ahead and disconnect the co2 connect from the keg?

I'm by no means an expert, but I've been doing what you're describing (purging with CO2 and then storing) for my last few kegs. Its nice having something on reserve.

Good luck with the kegerator!

Yep. Ideally carbonate it and then store it as cool as you can - so a basement would be good if possible. Otherwise no worries. Just more incentive to get that new kegerator! :)
