Is there any beer that is not good to keg?? Duvel is my next to brew and I thinking that I might just have to bottle to get the true duvel foam thing.I thought I got away from that. A few questions;can I bottle this style from keg? and what PSI level is Duvel carbonated.
 
I just kegged my Duvel :)...so I'm anxiously awaiting an answer on this one.

I will say I did the set and forget method of carbing....I think I got something like 3 units in it....and it's pretty decent on tap...I am however considering leaving it in the keg a letting it sit for a couple more months...it still tastes a little green...(its a skosh over two months old at this point).

I think Duvel might be ok. I kegged an Orval-ish clone and while it tastes nothing like Orval it's still a decent beer. When I have compared a bottled homebrew to the same beer in a keg the bottled version has been more complex and I don't see a lot of the flavors of a Rochefort or Chimay coming through that well. Or I could be doing something wrong when kegging. The jury's still out.
 
If the recipe you are using lists pear extract be very careful or skip in all together. My first attempt at Duvel called for the pear extract and I went under the requested amount and it was still overwhelming.:eek:

I find that to be true with most in not all the Belgians and big beers that I keg and bottle. I carbonate and condition in the keg for a good 2+ months then bottle some off the same keg with my beergun. After a few days in the bottle the bottled beer has a soother taste and feel. I love kegging since its easy but I feel that the carbonation can at times be a bit sharp. Not over carbonated by any means it’s just has a slight sharp bite to me. But that clears up when the same beer is bottled for some reason. Maybe the liquid to air ratio in the bottle plays in?
