So right below this post is a post raving about kegconnection.com. I was even referred to them by some one on this site, so I'm gathering that they can't be a terrible company.

Anyways, I e-mailed them with what I needed and they sent me a quote. I replied with the quote asking if the only way to purchase that specific quote was to call them or if there was a way to do it online. I received no answer.

This was probably about a week or two ago. I then called yesterday and left a message with Ben and never received a call back. This is probably about noon or 1 their time. I also tried all their other numbers and got a busy signal then after a while it rang for a while and went straight to voicemail.

Are they on vacation or something? Is there another supplier I should look at purchasing from? I need a keg and some equipment as I have a bucket of beer in my fridge that's taking up a good bit of space and is ready to be kegged.

Not that it matters now...but most of Texas was slammed with winter storms basically the whole month of February.

I ordered a two keg system and dual tower two weeks ago on a Monday morning. I called in the order since they had just changed their kits to allow customization and wanted to make sure I got the correct parts. When I ordered they indicated that they might a day or so behind because they were out of CO2 tanks.

I have never received an email with my invoice.
I had already setup an online account which I referenced over the phone when I called to place my order but the order doesn't show up in my account.

I called late in the day on Thursday of the first week (4 days out) and asked about the order status. KC indicated that they were just waiting on tower gaskets that should be in no later than Friday.
Tuesday (8 days later) and no emails so I called again. This time I was told that they were having parts supply issues with the towers. I asked them to split the shipment so that I can get the kegs/regulator/CO2 system in hand which they did and this part of the order arrived on Thursday (11 days)
Its now been two full business weeks and I have not received an email on the Tower shipment. At this point I will call one more time on Monday but if they are still out of stock will cancel the order for my tower and go somewhere else.

KC seem to be run by nice people that are trying but these guys need a lot of work on customer communications. Anyone that has run a business realizes that stock outs do occur from time to time. However, a simple email to notify customers of their orders being held up can go a long way and the time spent would pay off ten fold. I am going to now call for the third time about my order which certainly has taken more customer service time then KC sending an email or two.

I will post again with my resolution but at this point I am not sure that I would order from them again.

I sent Todd an email this morning and mentioned my problems and immediately got a reply. He gave a very detailed description of all of the issues that seem to have hit my particular order including a problem he has been fighting in getting shanks delivered.

He was very responsive and indicated that he fully expect them to arrive on Monday at which time he will get my order out.

It was great to receive this email and know what is going on. I will post with the final results but I think that they may redeem themselves in my book.

I must say, so far it's been a rough experience in my first order from Keg Connection. I paid close to $300 for their full nitrogen setup, and come to find the nitro bottle ships empty. While shipping pressurized gas is probably a no no because of UPS, it makes no mention of it on their website that the tank is empty. For us newbs, I figured it'd come full just like the co2 tanks you'd purchase at the lhbs. If it's standard practice to ship empty tanks, I wish they'd list that on their website because last night I was expecting a nitro beer, and instead have an empty tank.

To boot, I'm still waiting on the other half of the order. It looks like it comes with a corny keg (which I fully expected), and the replacement rings for it. Neither of these items have arrived, and the order was placed over 2 weeks ago.

On a positive note, I will say that they take extra care in packaging items. The items I did receive were bundled up tighter than fort knox.

While the website doesn't state it's empty it also makes no implication it is full. You purchased the cylinder, as described, not the contents. When you purchase a keg it doesn't come full of beer either.

Yeah, but when you purchase a co2 tank, it comes full...

I thought it was a federal regulation that tanks had to ship empty. I've never had one shipped to me full. Every site I've seen has said the tank ships empty.

If sold locally, sure. Shipping a filled cylinder won't happen though, from any retailer.

I've never had a problem with Keg Connection. As was stated earlier, getting a full cylinder shipped ain't gonna happen. Ever.

When I bought my starter kit with them, I got a call the following day that their 5 lb CO2 tanks were backordered and asked if they could replace it with a 10 lb tank at no extra charge. Pretty good customer service in my book. Does your receipt indicate that the corny is backordered (which I would find suprising)? If not, I don't think you ordered the kit that you thought you did.

Yeah. Shipping full cylinders is a DOT issue. It can be done, but only by specially licensed suppliers. Not UPS, USPS, Fedex, etc.

From a customer service standpoint it makes sense to state it on the website, but I understand why they don't. I think most people who order a gas cylinder realize it has to ship empty.

Have you contacted Keg Connection regarding the missing items? I would not automatically blame the supplier. There were probably several packages in this shipment. I often placed orders for a company that I worked for and had the items get separated in shipping and arrive over several days. Keg Connections can have the shipment tracked and find out what the shipping details are. If the problem is on their end they may not even know if you do not contact them......

Just went to airgas and exchanged the container lol....2x the size of the one I got from kc + gas for $75. Next stop...a nitrogen english northern brown ale! Can't Wait! :D

Just to follow up on my previous posts. I had a long discussion with Todd about the history of my order and hearing what had transpired it truly seemed to be the perfect storm of issues related to what I had wanted.

My tower shipped on the following Monday and arrived quickly. KC has certainly redeemed themselves in my book and I would order from them again.

What a change of heart once you actually talked to the guys. They've always done right by me.

Been a few days now and still haven't heard anything about the missing keg. I'm kinda starting to get frustrated because I'd heard nothing but good things about KC. I've got beer ready to rack and no keg.

So, you've talked about getting full co2 tanks from your lhbs, but you have no kegs? Interesting...

I am positive you can get full bottles shipped to you....you just are going to have to get a private company to do it to get the permits...tag their trucks and drive it to you...Might be cheaper to just go get it filled....

Honestly, it is considered bad form to gripe about a company before they have a chance to resolve the situation. It sounds like you have tried all methods of contact, but giving them a little more time is not a bad idea. I empathize as I am impatient as well and would be frustrated if I had not received a response within 24 hours.

In the description of the link you posted it does show that a corny keg is included. I am curious to see how this pans out as I am planning on ordering a 3 keg setup from them in the near future.

That's funny cause if you look at their threads most are complaining about KC. I myself tried to order some stuff from them a while back and could barely even get a quote after repeated contacts.

Please provide the name of a company that will ship a CO2 tank, full. Since it's against federal law, we'd all love to know!

Yoop, as I've stated, it was a noobie mistake. When all I've done is pick up co2 tanks at the lhbs, that's all I had to compare it to. Of course, the light bulb went off as soon as I twisted the nozzle, and nothing. For people new to brewing, it would be helpful if vendors would state that you need to fill the bottle.

As for deleting my post...please note that I wasn't the one who started anything. No one asked for whats his name to post or cause problems in this thread. People trolling on the internet ruins forums, and I was a little peeved. I apologize to the moderators for my hasty response.

Todd from KC finally got back in touch with me, and they're sending out the keg today. :)

Any recent reviews on KC? How their shipping speed on a kit like this with nothing super special? Ive been Eyeing up their 5 keg standard kit, for under 200 bucks shipped with a dual body regulator, all hoses disconnects and a 4 way manifold right now Im thinking thats the best deal out there.

$200 for a 5 keg conversion kit? I think not sir, but if it's true then i need to order a whole bunch from them right away.

I don't think the kit includes the actual kegs or a CO2 tank. I think it is just the other parts that bigpapa listed - regulator, hoses, disconnects, and 5-way manifold.

shipping always takes about 4-5 days for me (including the weekend) I tend to order during the week. On my last order they forgot to pack the actual keg. So I called and then Todd called me back around 6pm last night, and he assured me that they will get a keg out to my today. Not too upset, mistakes happen. We had a good laugh about how 3 people (# required to check off a packing list) could miss something as big as a Keg.
