Hey guys. I got a great deal on a GE mini fridge. One that I saw several folks had turned into a kegarator. I'm trying to figure out how to relocate the thermostat/on off switch and get the wiring right. I got a external temp controller for it. Do I need the thermostat at all now? Or at least does that change the wiring when it's moved? I definitely don't need the thermostat part. I am trying to figure out if I need the on off switch.
Thanks for any pointers!

I think it depends on the external temp controller. I believe they turn on/off the power to the fridge based on the temp probe readings, the internal fridge thermostat is effectively bypassed with the external temp controller you should not need to do anything with it. Are you using for a fermentation box or just a kegerator? If a kegerator i think you don't need the external temp controller. Since i have not made or have a kegerator someone who has can tell you better.

Leave the thermostat alone. Whether you are using it for a kegarator or a fermentation chamber, you want it turned down to as cold as possible. You don't need an external temp control for a kegarator. And if you are using it for fermentation, then you just plug the frig into it.

Maybe you should explain exactly what you are wanting to do.
