I just bought a used kegerator / homemade job, cleaning it up now and wanted to know about these types of kegs and their lids and what is acceptable and not.
The Question is in regard to the lid (removable with O-Ring type) Two of them when flipped over with Star San in them do not leak, the Third does... Is this an O-ring solve or will the C02 Pressure take care of that? It does drip pretty good.
Lastly the O-rings for the Keg The Posts... Is there a standard size to get replacements or a suggestion where you get yours please?
Thanks for any links and advice
B

Pressure usually will seal some leaks, depends if its a damaged o-ring or a bent lid or keg. I would replace all the o-rings and pressure test using soap to see if there is a leak. Look for bubbles around the posts and lid.

The link is to a pin lock O-ring set, and it appears to use the proper, thicker post O-rings (ball lock posts use thinner O-rings and if you use them on a pin lock the gas QD will leak).

One can often get a keg that doesn't seal without pressure to do so by slipping dimes or pennies under the plastic latch feet. If that works it could indicate the latch "legs" are bent causing reduced leverage on the lid. A bit of "reforming" could restore the original latch geometry.

If all else fails, Williams Brewing carries a thicker lid O-ring for problem cases...

Cheers!

Or if you dont want rig your keg with dimes and pennies just to get them to work...which sounds ridiculous...
Just get a keg that was meant for beer....a sanke, and forget all your worries

Thanks guys, Last question about these SODA kegs.... Which is liquid and which is Gas?
3 pin 2 pin? Thanks appreciate the straight forward help on this.

Anyone know it that is an OVAL or RACETRACK? I was just going to POP for new LIDS over on that link

They will seal better with clear IPA in them :) j/k

You can get new lids, lid feet, gaskets... pretty much anything you need for fixing your kegs up at KegConnection.com too.

NaGorG- Is there a special wrench to get those off of there? Looks like a socket would need notches or something?
