I have a Corny keg that has been leaking. So, I decided to replace all the O-rings. As I was doing this, I realized there is a flaw in the sealing system.

There is an O-ring between the top of the keg and the bottom of the dip tube. Fine. But, when you screw the posts on, there is a metal-to-metal contact between the top of the dip tube and the bottom inside of the post. There is no rubber gasket or seal here. This seems like a flaw to me. Am I missing something?

I've always wondered about that, too. I knew that it worked and didn't leak but the metal on metal contact seemed like it should leak to me. Thanks @Bobby_M .
